What Conditions Does Physiotherapy Treat?

Our physiotherapists work with a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and post-surgical conditions. Common reasons patients visit our Hamilton physiotherapy clinic include:

  • Back and neck pain

  • Sports injuries and muscle strains

  • Post-surgical rehabilitation

  • Joint pain and stiffness

  • Shoulder, knee, and hip injuries

  • Work-related or repetitive strain injuries

If you're unsure whether physiotherapy is right for your condition, get in touch. We're happy to help you figure out the best next step.

What to Expect at Your First Physiotherapy Appointment

Your first appointment begins with a thorough assessment. Your physiotherapist will ask about your health history, current symptoms, and goals for treatment. From there, they'll conduct a physical examination to better understand what's contributing to your pain or limitation.

Together, you'll discuss a plan for your care, including what treatment may involve and how frequently you might benefit from coming in.

Please note: New patients require an initial assessment. If it has been more than six months since your last visit, a re-assessment is required before treatment continues.

Also, you don't need to have a diagnosis at booking or arrival. Many patients come to us with a general sense of where they're hurting and leave their first appointment with a much clearer picture of what's going on.

Physiotherapy as Part of Multidisciplinary Care

One of the things that sets Integration Health apart from a standalone physiotherapy clinic is the breadth of care available in one place. Depending on your needs, your physiotherapist may work alongside our registered massage therapists,  osteopathic manual practitioners, hand therapists, or therapeutic exercise specialists, not as a referral out, but as part of a coordinated approach to your recovery.

With over 90 years of combined experience across disciplines, our team looks for the cause of the problem rather than simply treating the symptoms. We communicate with your other health professionals as needed, and we'll always make sure you understand your plan.
