Not sure whether this is the right fit for what you’re dealing with? Call us and we’ll help point you in the right direction.

What External Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Means

Rebecca’s pelvic health assessments and treatments are external only. She does not do internal pelvic floor examinations or internal treatment.

Your care focuses on how you move, breathe, brace and load your body through everyday life, exercise and pregnancy. You’ll leave each visit with a plan and exercises you can do at home.

If an internal assessment would help, we’ll refer you to a trusted colleague who provides it.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Your first visit is a 60-minute, one-on-one assessment in a private treatment room. Rebecca will start with a conversation about what’s going on, your health history and what you’d like to get back to. Then she’ll assess how you move and work with you on a plan that fits your goals.

You’re welcome to wear comfortable clothes you can move in. You set the pace, and you can ask questions at any point.

Pelvic health physiotherapy is physiotherapy, so it's usually covered under the physiotherapy portion of extended health plans. We bill most major insurers directly, so you don't have to pay up front and wait to be reimbursed.

Many plans reset on December 31, so if you have physiotherapy coverage left this year, now is a good time to use it. Not sure what your plan covers? Our front desk is happy to help you check.

Common Questions

Is pelvic health physiotherapy only for women?

No. It's open to everyone. Bladder and bowel leakage, pelvic pain and core weakness affect people of all genders and ages.

How can pelvic health physiotherapy help men?

Men see Rebecca for many of the same problems: bladder or bowel leakage, including leakage after prostate surgery, pelvic or groin pain, low back or hip pain, and core weakness. Treatment is external, and if an internal assessment would help, we'll refer you to a trusted colleague.

Will there be an internal exam?

No. Rebecca's pelvic health care is external only. If an internal assessment would help, we'll refer you to a trusted colleague.

Can I come while I'm pregnant?

Yes. Pregnancy-related pain and preparing for birth are two of the most common reasons people book.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly with Rebecca. Some insurance plans ask for a doctor's note before they reimburse physiotherapy, so check your policy if you're claiming.

Is there parking?

Yes. We have a large free parking lot on site, so you won't need to hunt for street parking downtown.
