Sharmila is the Director of Integration Health + Education, bringing over 25 years of expertise in health and wellness to her multidisciplinary practice.
Her journey began on the fitness floor—teaching in Hamilton, Montreal, and Amsterdam—before academic pursuits led her to McGill University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and Italian Literature. She then returned to her roots at McMaster University's renowned School of Rehabilitation Science, graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy and joining her parents at Upper Ottawa Physiotherapy.
In 2010, Sharmila expanded her clinical lens, pursuing classical osteopathic training at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy & Holistic Health Sciences. She completed her Master in Osteopathic Manipulative Science in 2014, integrating osteopathic principles into every treatment. Her Master's in Aging and Health further deepened her understanding of how bodies change across the lifespan.
Today, Sharmila weaves together decades of movement education, manual therapy expertise, and evidence-informed practice. When she's not in the clinic or designing continuing education courses, you'll find her in the trails with her sweet dog, Juniper, crocheting, traveling, or gathered around a table with the people she loves most.
